U Min Thonze Pagoda is one of the most distinctive complexes on the main hill top of Sagaing. U Min means caves and Thonze means thirty .This pagoda comprises of 45 beautiful gilded Buddha images in a crescent-shaped colonnade, partly built into the side of the Sagaing Hill. Each Buddha statue is unique in different sizes & facial expression.
After walking out of the enclosure at the very end, one can climb even farther to the top where the beautiful green valley below and the many stupas can be seen. The view is simply amazing.

Located in Sagaing Hill, 20km from Mandalay city center.
Paying Mandalay zone fee of $10, you are allowed to access to U Min Thonze Pagoda & most of the tourist attraction in Mandalay.

Advisory:
As all other temples & pagodas in Myanmar, you are requested to wear over kneed trousers and leave foot wares outside before visiting the temples/ pagoda. Sandal is particularly convenient.
Early in the morning or later in the afternoon are the best times to visit the pagoda and Sagaing Hill as it is not too hot to enjoy the great view.
