DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival.
Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway into the Angkor temples of Cambodia. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Banteay Srei and the legendary Angkor Wat. Upon arrival, your tour guide and driver will welcome you at the airport and drive you to the hotel to check in. Spend the rest of the day to enjoy the pool of hotel or take a short walk to Old Market in the center of Siem Reap City.

Day 2: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples.
The Archaeological Park’s crown jewel, Angkor Wat ranks as one of the world’s greatest ancient wonders and largest religious monument. This 12th century architectural masterpiece can be overwhelming in its sheer awesomeness. Today your tour guide will share his knowledge, imparting a concise overview of the Khmer history, culture, archaeology and civilization for you to understand more about this sprawling temple complex. Listen to the legends behind Angkor Wat’s stunning basreliefs and murals, while strolling through elaborately carved hallways. Later, explore some of the lesserknown but equally fascinating temples. A highlight is meeting a local family who survived the brutal Pol Pot Regime. Hear their personal stories to understand Cambodia’s recent tumultuous history.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Fly to Hanoi.
You are free to explore the town today, as well as some other famous sightseeing spots of Angkor Temples with our optional tours.
In the afternoon, transfer to Siem Reap’s airport and fly to Hanoi, Vietnam’s elegant capital city, where your driver and guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

Day 4: Hanoi City Tour.
Today you have a full day to explore Vietnam’s charming capital. With its wide treelined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and ancient oriental pagodas, Hanoi is an eclectic mix that offers something for everyone. Your city tour will take you to Hanoi’s key sites: the Temple of Literature, the Opera House, Hoan Kiem Lake & Ngoc Son Temple, the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and stilt house), the Presidential Palace, the nearby One Pillar Pagoda, West Lake and the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda. Concludes a day tour with a walk around the Old Quarter and a visit to the Hanoi’s Heritage House.

Day 5: Hanoi – Mai Chau.
After breakfast, depart Hanoi for a fourhour drive to Mai Chau, one of Vietnam's lesserknown rural gems, located 170 km southwest of Hanoi. Just an hour beyond the Old Quarter, after Hoa Binh City, the road weaves through mountains, fertile valleys, and traditional villages.
Arrive in the picturesque Mai Chau Valley surrounded by spectacular karst rock formations and rice paddies. Trek through terraced rice paddies and small villages, discovering the natural beauty of the valley and encountering the culture of the ethnic minority Thai people on your visits to the Pom Coong and Na Phon villages. Enjoy the sunset on the way back to your hotel in the peaceful valley.

Day 6: Mai Chau – Hanoi.
Start the day with a breakfast at your hotel, take a short drive through the surrounding countryside before setting off on a trek through rice paddies and down winding lanes to visit the “Cum” and “Xam Khoe” villages. Immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture and enjoy an authentic lunch at one of the villages. In the afternoon, drive back to the urban bustle, arriving at your hotel in Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on cruise.

Halong Bay is one of the most loved spots in Vietnam for a reason  it's gorgeous. On this Halong Bay tour, we take you away from the hectic pace of life in Hanoi and introduce you to the tranquil, beautiful Halong Bay... Following breakfast, journey east through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay, truly one of Vietnam's most scenic impressive sights. On arrival you are welcomed onboard a traditional junk. Settle into a private comfortable cabin and unpack for a two-day cruise around Halong Bay. Along the way, enjoy a huge lunch served on board and admire the picturesque scenery of islands. These limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. You will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to Sung Sot Cave, one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. The remainder of day is for your own pleasure; observing the bay, lazing around the deck or simply soaking up the sunshine.

Day 8: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Departure.
Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of the bay as you navigate back to the pier. Savor a fresh seafood lunch, served on board before sailing back to Halong City, where your car will be waiting to take you to Hanoi's airport for your departure flight.
